Finistere. Enjoy the best of both worlds! This cottage nestles in
the beautiful Breton countryside, yet just a short drive from the
historical City of Quimper with its mixture of friendly welcoming
cafés and crêperies to its modern shops and hypermarkets. If you prefer
the sea, then drive 17 miles and come to the rugged coastline with
its sandy beaches of the Western coast where you can enjoy the tranquility
of a quiet beach or the excitement of a bustling harbour.
Lennon is an excellent base for exploring
Brittany and within easy driving distance of many villages and large
towns. Places within easy driving also include Benodet, Il Tudy; Pont
Aven is a must for its paintings, architecture and side street cafés.
Local shops are within a five minute drive at Chateauneuf-du-Faou
(street Market Wednesdays) and Pleyben.
Activities include cycling and there are
a number of cycle routes in the area, however, as most roads and tracks
are so quiet, you can generally cycle most places in safety. A short
spin to the boulangerie in Pleyben is recommended. There are good
local walks and maps in the cottage with some ideas for local routes.
There are many leaflets also on the local attractions in the area.
Good restaurants at Plouneves Du Faou (Louie’s) and at Chateauneuf-du-Faou
(Ty Lai).
For the angler, Chateaulin is only 10 miles
away, where the River Aulne ranks number one in the whole of France
for salmon fishing. Other species of fish also provide good sport.
The local tackle shop at Chateaulin can provide temporary licenses
and is a wealth of information on the local beats.

Fly from Luton to Brest which is 40 mins drive from the cottage(dual carriageway all the way)
Road links to the cottage are excellent and along motorway (toll free)
and dual carriageway for 90% of the journey.
The cottage consists of large open plan
lounge and dining area, with an attractive and functional wood burning
stove for those cooler evenings. There is dining for six and the
lounge has comfortable seating with stereo, TV and Satellite showing
UK TV for those who just can’t leave it behind completely!
There is a selection of games and paperbacks
for an evening back at the cottage. A doorway leads to modern, well-
equipped kitchen including washing machine, cooker, fridge freezer
and microwave oven through to bathroom with bath and shower over.
